“I'm always excited to find a new addition to the Soldier of the Legion Series in my mailbox. The characters in this series seem like old friends to me now, and I'm eager to discover what sort of dangers they might encounter. I'm not a sci fi devotee, but this series is so imaginative, so well written and rich in imagery that I find myself devouring every page...It has everything: memorable, courageous heroes who are all but immortal thanks to biotechnology; fierce battle action on hostile worlds; ghastly creatures bent on eliminating all humans; and, most of all, this series of books has heart and hope for all who read them. Highly recommended.” —Midwest Book Review

“As in his previous novels, Thomas's characters have a level of depth and intensity that move this story way beyond a Sci-fi thriller, creating a compelling novel that will appeal to all readers.” — Nancy L. Mehl, Author

“As in every book of this series, the battles are so realistic my heartpounded…The writing style is exciting…In many ways, this is my favorite book in the series so far. Highly recommended.” — Laurel Johnson of Midwest Book Reviews

“The Soldier of the Legion series has been a fun read all the way through! I actually enjoy the fact that the author doesn't go into detail about the weapons. It allows the reader to form their own mental picture of the capabilities. More please!” — Lori Saphira (amazon.com)

“Secret of the Legion by Marshall S. Thomas is fast paced and well put together. It provides a possible insight to how the future soldier will survive both as an individual and as a team. MARINE wannabees should enjoy. I found nothing to slow down the pace and for the most part it hung together well with reasonable but sometime unexpected endings. The entire series is well worth the time.” — DS Schertz (amazon.com)

“I’m a little sad to see this excellent sci fi series end. I’ve fought horrific battles with the characters, visited frightening or beautiful worlds, stood my ground with them as life exploded in flames around them, and watched them mature through every harrowing assignment. I’ll miss these courageous Legion immortals, forever young and strong as they seek truth and justice throughout the known universe.” — Midwest Book Review

REVIEWS

“The Legion series is a lot of fun to read - good escapism, good (speculative) science and some moralizing. Ordered all six and read straight through.” — L. P. Mercer (amazon.com)

“It’s been a long wait for the second in this exciting series of sci-fi books. I must admit that the attraction for me is Marshall Thomas’s writing style and story telling ability. This book picks up where the last left off, with the Legion facing a scourge that threatens all life forms throughout the universe—the Omnis. Once again, the action is heart pounding, the characters believable and well developed. This time, adding interest to the plot, the Legion juggles political intrigue and betrayal along with fighting the Omnis.” — Laurel Johnson Midwest Book Review

“Readers experience breath taking action and frightening battles on alien worlds…Sci-fi fans or readers who enjoy good writing should love this book. This series is highly recommended.” — Midwest Book Review

“Fast paced, hard hitting military science fiction of the best type. We follow at lowest level the beta team and in particular beta 3 the hero of the series. Good action and great characters with at times amusing dialogues. The tech is believable and the author to my great pleasure does not get into the trap of over explaining specifics but rather leaves it to the reader to work it out. Very good read and very recommendable!” — Peter Neubert (amazon.com)

“Thoroughly entertaining and a good read, it's not often I see right wing Sci-Fi, traditionally a genre for progressives who worship at the twin altars of Science and Knowledge.” — WarLlama (amazon.com)

The Forever War

A THOUSAND YEAR CONFLICT. ONE SOLDIER LIVES THROUGH IT ALL. CAN HE MAINTAIN HIS HUMANITY?

The Forever War is a science fiction classic that chronicles the life of William Mandella. Due to the time distortion associated with deep space travel, he is present during both the first and the last battle of a thousand year old conflict with the alien Taurans. A masterpiece of not just science fiction, The Forever War illustrates the futility of all wars and their effect on the human soul.

The Forever War won all major science fiction awards including the Hugo, Nebula and Locus. Ridley Scott, director of Blade Runner and Alien, is currently adapting this classic for film.

This is the author's preferred version and includes a foreword by John Scalzi, author of Old Man's War.

REVIEWS

"If there was a Fort Knox for science fiction, we'd have to lock Joe Haldeman up and throw away the key." - Steven King

"The Forever War is brilliant-one of the most influential war novels of our time. That it happens to be set in the future only broadens and enhances its message." - Greg Bear

“The Forever War is not just a great science fiction novel, it’s a great Vietnam war novel—and a great war novel, without qualification—that is also science fiction. A classic to grace either genre.” — Iain Banks
